The Choices I Made! A Post Dedicated to the Year 2015!

on December 12, 2015

As I look back on the Year 2015, I think of all the things that altered the course of my journey, or in other words, the things that led me to the path I am walking on today. These things are the choices that I made! And I would like to list a few of them down for you:

  1. I chose to end the toxic friendships which were nothing but a stress to my mind. Because who wants friends who only make you feel “less than”. The year was about ending some friendships and not feeling sorry at all.
  2. I chose to be more independent than I was back in college, as early as possible, by accepting the very first job offered to me. I did not think twice about the pros and cons because all I wanted at that time was to get into the corporate life as soon as possible and be more independent. I am glad I do not regret my decision.
  3. Being an introvert by nature, the third choice that I made was the toughest one. I chose not to hold myself back from sharing my feelings, my thoughts with those who matter to me, those who care about me, those who understand me. And somehow, it feels good.

I listened to my inner voice; I listened to my heart and that guided me to make those choices which I hope turn out to be the right ones!

Ending this post with the following two quotes that I found quite fitting:

“Mom always liked to say that we hardly ever know the decisions we make that change our lives, mostly because they are little ones. You took this bus instead of that one and ended up meeting your soul mate, that kind of thing.”― Rachel Hawkins

“Your life is the sum result of all the choices you make, both consciously and unconsciously. If you can control the process of choosing, you can take control of all aspects of your life. You can find the freedom that comes from being in charge of yourself.” ― Robert Bennett
