The be-all and end-all

Life's sweet and sour surprises!

How I Started Blogging!

Heya my Blogger Friends!

Today I got my 150th follower (thanks to Dr. Joseph Suglia) and it feels good to see this count increasing with each passing day. I had started this blog two years back at a time when I was feeling very low, life had taken a big turn, and I was trying to cope up with whatever life threw my way. I needed a place where I would be able to distract myself from the “reality” (even though for a brief period, but it did help me), I wanted to be as far away from the reality as possible. You may think I am a dodger but I am not. Because ultimately, I did have to go back to “life” and start facing all the problems and come out of it more strongly than ever.

It’s strange how life makes you do/try things you never would have thought of doing otherwise! This blog is one of them!

Some of the Many Little Things that I Love – Part One!

I wanted to write this post so that I never forget what I love to do and it would also help me in finding more about myself, to reflect and become aware of who I am as a person by way of knowing what little things I love to do.

Here are some of the little things that I take delight in:

  • I love when the sunlight enters my room through the windows. The excitement of opening the curtain and letting the daylight in, instead of switching on the lights is what I look forward to, the moment I wake up.

  • I simply love people-watching. I think I am a curious person and very observant, hence, this is one activity which I can do all day and not get tired.

  • Another thing which is very dear to me is giving customized presents to my friends and family like gifting customized t-shirts ‘The Best Dad’, hand-made birthday cards, friendship band with a message on it. I don’t mind spending time while choosing the gifts for my loved ones.
  • I love arranging the books on my shelf in a colorful order. Pink cover book adjacent to the orange one adjacent to the black one and so on.
  • I enjoy the weather in October and February, when it is neither too cold nor too hot.
  • Visiting the historic places makes me happy. These places fascinate me. When I am there, I wonder what it would have been like to be born in that era. I let my imagination go wild and I simply rejoice in it.

These are the only things that I can remember as of now. As and when I come up with some more, I’ll post it in the next blog post.

What are some of the little things that you enjoy doing? I would love to know what makes you happy. Keep reading and commenting!

2014 in review!

The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 940 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 16 trips to carry that many people.

“AND WHEN WE MET…” – A Short Story

Just when he is sitting in a library thinking how boring his life has become, a girl with big hazel eyes and long hair walks in the library. He looks at her and then looks at her again. She was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen in his life and he felt the love-at-first-sight feeling for the first time. She sits next to him and he somehow finds the courage to start the conversation.

“Um, Hi. I am Adam.” He says with a broad smile on his face.

“Okay.” She replies.

“Hmm. So she is playing hard to get.” He thinks.

“So, what’s your name?” he tries again.

“Not interested.” She replies curtly.

“Oh. It must be a very boring name then.” Saying so, he turns away.

“Excuse me. Who do you think you are?”

“Who do you think I am?”

Piece of Writing!

What a piece of writing! Wish I could write something as good as this; writing which means something to someone, which makes one feel something strongly, which makes one think and question about life.

Be Kind and Smile!

In this fast and ever-changing world, people have got no time to think about anyone but themselves. And I am not blaming them or judging them here. I myself am a part of that. Such is the rush and desire to be ahead of everyone else that comes the dawn, and people start to get ready for the day ahead, planning each and every task carefully so that they don’t lag behind. And I am no other. Every single day at 9 in the morning, I hurry to reach office on time, completely ignoring the elderly guards who sit near the hostel gate. Probably one of the guards realized that this girl was never going to greet them in the morning, that one day he himself wished me good morning, which made me feel embarrassed and guilty somehow, as they were elder to me and I was the one supposed to show respect towards them. It definitely made me ponder on the kind of life most of us live; a life where making somebody else happy, or showing respect to a stranger, is not on our priority list.

8 To Go!!!

Hey everyone!! I am just eight short of hundred followers. I started blogging in March 2013 and I think it’s a pretty good number to look at! 😀

Way to go!!!

Blog Editing – Complicated for a newbie !

All this while I was in misconception that I have edited my “about me” in the homepage. But hey, no, editing a blog is not a cakewalk ( what I used to think). I didn’t know Gravatar profile is different from your profile which will appear in your homepage. But thankfully today, while I was checking my stats, I saw that a visitor checked out my “about me” page (not a common sight in my stats ). And that’s when I clicked that statistic and opened “about” page and ho! what do I see? Something written like ‘this is another page like your homepage and blah blah’. A visitor comes to my ( a newbie ) profile and leaves with disappointment. Sorry my dear visitor for wasting your time ( He-he ). But now I have edited it (yay), though still not very creative. But something’s better than nothing.

Also, I see so many profiles and homepages which are beautifully customized and creative. Great work people! This makes me realize that my computer skills are close to none.

And one more thing. Even though I find editing the blogs a bit complicated, I still love WordPress! 🙂

Thank you WordPress!

I am so grateful to WordPress or you can say the “world of blogging”. Thank you for giving us bloggers a platform to express our views, to share our thoughts, to connect with the outer world, to gain knowledge, to learn new things, and what not!

Blogging has helped me to view the world in a whole new way, in a different and better way. I feel connected to the world, even though I’m sitting at my home with a laptop on my lap! I feel contented after sharing my thoughts with you all. It’s like a respite. Respite from what? That I dunno. But it feels good.

And I hope to connect with more and more people here, to learn new things, and to read what this world, full of talent, has to tell. Totally fascinated by the pool of talent here! 🙂
