How I Started Blogging!

Heya my Blogger Friends!

Today I got my 150th follower (thanks to Dr. Joseph Suglia) and it feels good to see this count increasing with each passing day. I had started this blog two years back at a time when I was feeling very low, life had taken a big turn, and I was trying to cope up with whatever life threw my way. I needed a place where I would be able to distract myself from the “reality” (even though for a brief period, but it did help me), I wanted to be as far away from the reality as possible. You may think I am a dodger but I am not. Because ultimately, I did have to go back to “life” and start facing all the problems and come out of it more strongly than ever.

It’s strange how life makes you do/try things you never would have thought of doing otherwise! This blog is one of them!

“AND WHEN WE MET…” – A Short Story

Just when he is sitting in a library thinking how boring his life has become, a girl with big hazel eyes and long hair walks in the library. He looks at her and then looks at her again. She was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen in his life and he felt the love-at-first-sight feeling for the first time. She sits next to him and he somehow finds the courage to start the conversation.

“Um, Hi. I am Adam.” He says with a broad smile on his face.

“Okay.” She replies.

“Hmm. So she is playing hard to get.” He thinks.

“So, what’s your name?” he tries again.

“Not interested.” She replies curtly.

“Oh. It must be a very boring name then.” Saying so, he turns away.

“Excuse me. Who do you think you are?”

“Who do you think I am?”

Piece of Writing!

What a piece of writing! Wish I could write something as good as this; writing which means something to someone, which makes one feel something strongly, which makes one think and question about life.

In this fast and ever-changing world, people have got no time to think about anyone but themselves. And I am not blaming them or judging them here. I myself am a part of that. Such is the rush and desire to be ahead of everyone else that comes the dawn, and people start to get ready for the day ahead, planning each and every task carefully so that they don’t lag behind. And I am no other. Every single day at 9 in the morning, I hurry to reach office on time, completely ignoring the elderly guards who sit near the hostel gate. Probably one of the guards realized that this girl was never going to greet them in the morning, that one day he himself wished me good morning, which made me feel embarrassed and guilty somehow, as they were elder to me and I was the one supposed to show respect towards them. It definitely made me ponder on the kind of life most of us live; a life where making somebody else happy, or showing respect to a stranger, is not on our priority list.

I am so grateful to WordPress or you can say the “world of blogging”. Thank you for giving us bloggers a platform to express our views, to share our thoughts, to connect with the outer world, to gain knowledge, to learn new things, and what not!

Blogging has helped me to view the world in a whole new way, in a different and better way. I feel connected to the world, even though I’m sitting at my home with a laptop on my lap! I feel contented after sharing my thoughts with you all. It’s like a respite. Respite from what? That I dunno. But it feels good.

And I hope to connect with more and more people here, to learn new things, and to read what this world, full of talent, has to tell. Totally fascinated by the pool of talent here! 🙂
